Oculoplastic Surgery
Dr. Todd R. Shepler is the oculoplastic surgeon at Hill Country Eye Center. Dr. Shepler has been practicing for 14 years and is widely considered by his peers to be among the best oculoplastics surgeons in the country.

Oculoplastic surgical procedures include:
- Drooping eyelid or eyebrow repair (Ptosis)
- Removal of excess skin and fat around the eyes (Blepharoplasty)
- Repairing in-turning and out-turning of the lower eyelids (Entropion & Ectropion)
- Blocked tear duct drainage system (Nasolacrimal Duct Obstruction Repair)
- Reconstruction of eyelid for skin cancers
- Eyelid reconstruction following traumatic facial injury
- Chalazion drainage
What to expect
- Pre-operative instructions (typically include not eating or drinking after midnight the night before your surgery)
- A specified arrival time
- You and the surgical team will determine the appropriate type of sedation (typically intravenous sedation & a local anesthetic to numb around the eye)
- Additional nurses and technicians will be present to assist with your procedure (surgical procedures usually take 30 minutes to an hour)
- Post-operative instructions will be provided after your procedure is completed.
- Make prior arrangements to be driven home by a family member or friend.
